Colin Queen graduates to GB3 Championship with Fortec Motorsport

Colin Queen will graduate to the GB3 Championship – Partnered by the BRDC for the 2024 season after agreeing a deal to compete with Fortec Motorsport.

The news is another milestone on the 18-year-old from Florida’s rise through the single-seater ranks and comes off the back of an impressive rookie campaign in GB4 – GB3’s feeder series – in which Queen amassed a total of ten podium finishes en route to fourth in the championship.

Now, with the continued support of multiple race-winners Fortec Motorsport, Queen will embark on his greatest career challenge to-date in 2024, with the step up to GB3.

GB3 is the UK’s premier single-seater category, designed to be the bridge between Formula 4-spec cars and international Formula 3 competition. All of the UK’s notoriously-challenging venues are on the calendar, plus overseas trips to Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort and, new for 2024, the Hungaroring.

The car itself has an increase of almost 100bhp on Queen’s old GB4 machine, with a vastly improved aerodynamic package and all the latest safety features, including the Halo cockpit protection device. It’s a nimble, lightweight and – crucially – fast package, designed to be the ultimate proving ground for the motorsport stars of tomorrow.

Having tested the car post-season at Snetterton, Queen will now begin preparations in earnest for the 2024 campaign, which begins at Oulton Park over the weekend of 30 March – 01 April.

Colin Queen said:

“I’m so excited to make the step up to the GB3 Championship, and to be running with the Fortec family for a second year in a row”

“After the strong final GB4 round at Donington Park, I had the opportunity to drive the GB3 car at Snetterton, which was a fantastic experience.”

“With the synergy the team and I have built during my GB4 campaign, I know that we have the experience, skillset and capability to being a force to be reckoned with.”

“I’m feeling energised and ready to tackle this next chapter in my racing journey and can’t wait to test myself at even greater heights in 2024.”
