Colin Queen: My thoughts ahead of this weekend’s round at Brands Hatch

As we officially cross the halfway mark of the season, I am hoping for some great results this weekend at one of the most famous tracks in Britain, Brands Hatch. It is an incredibly short track with extreme elevation and sharp corners. It’s a tricky circuit that demands precision. There is hardly any place to make up much time if you don’t hit your marks. So, it will be a fun challenge especially for qualifying. I expect this circuit to provide the closest racing so far this year. There are very few passing zones and minimal room for error. With a sub 1 minute lap and 6 corners there is no time to rest, it will be a full-on mental challenge. Luckily, we had a brief test here in April when I first got to the country. For me, it's just so cool to be driving the same track that legends of our sport have raced on since the late 1940’s. Just walking through the gates will give you goosebumps. It is epic!

Having some time to reflect on the season since Anglesey, I'm happy with my progress. I think this race will be a great test to see how far I have progressed since April, especially on a track that I have some laps on. I’m excited and hope to see some fans in the stands this time. You can count on me to lick that stamp again for a full send. I’ll leave it all on the track and let the chips fall where they may...with a bit of luck and the great support of the LDR team we should have some strong results. Let’s see what we can do.
